WELLESBOURNE AIRFIELD IS UNDER THE THREAT OF BEING CLOSED TO MAKE WAY FOR A VERY LARGE DEVELOPMENT.
 
 

To help us retain the airfield, everything comes down to Wellesbourne Matters knowing the planning laws and what is and is not allowable under them.

 

The Wellesbourne Matters campaign is planning-led not emotionally led in that it is only by a thorough understanding of the planning system can we hope to retain your airfield for far into the future.

As well as an in-depth understanding of planning law in the Wellesbourne Matters Committee, there is also a requirement to have the best Planning Consultants, Planning Lawyers and Planning KC’s as part of the team and this is where you come in. As can be imagined, such expertise costs a considerable amount of money both to retain and call upon during any upcoming Public examinations of any proposals.  

 

Thanks to wide ranging Public support and your considerable financial contributions, Wellesbourne Matters successfully prevented the Developers from getting their initial plans for 1,600 houses included within the first Core Strategy and Neighbourhood Plan polices.

These plans and policies are now reaching the end of their natural life and a new plan is about to be formulated to run from the expiry of the current one. We have absolutely no doubt that the Developers will throw absolutely everything they have at getting their proposals into the next plan and so we need to be able to fight with everything we have to thwart their unwanted proposal on your behalf.
